Children's Chapel

Children’s Chapel

Children of all ages are invited to attend our Children’s Chapel this Sunday in the Landers Room. We will be working together on our latest service project: Creating friendship bags for refugee children. We will be making cards to send along with small stuffed animals to the Community Response Team at the Unitarian Universalist Church of El Paso, Texas. The children and youth will also be voting on what charity or organization they want their Easter Egg Hunt money collection to go to next month.

Don’t know much about the Children’s Chapel experience? Here is a look back on our two most recent ones:

Children’s Chapel 1/18/15

The children laid down on the rug and listened to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. give his “I Have A Dream Speech.” Then they created a banner of their own dreams.

 Dreams for the Earth,

Dreams for human and animal friends,

Dreams of Love,

Dreams of Plenty for Everyone,

Dreams of Equality and Acceptance,

and Dreams of World Peace.

What are your dreams?
The completed banner is on display now in the Lander's Room.

Sunday, February 22, 2015           A Birthday Party in A Bag!

Today, we talked about why families might need to use a food bank. Then each child decorated a birthday bag and filled it with supplies for a child’s birthday party.

Thank you to everyone in the congregation who donated cake mixes, frosting and party goods!

Each of the 34 bags was different and beautiful and will soon be on the way to the food banks at Wesley Methodist Church and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester on Holden Street.
